MARKET REVIEW
The JCI fell 1.51% to 6,148 as the first session under the IDX’s new IDR 1 minimum price rule triggered heavy selling in former IDR 50 stocks, led by GOTO, which hit its lower auto-rejection limit and was the index’s biggest drag. Pressure spread to metal miners such as AMMN, MDKA and INCO as gold slid, while oil-linked energy names rose.
Asian markets were mostly lower as the US–Iran deadlock over the Strait of Hormuz lifted Brent above USD 106/barrel and chipmakers fell after OpenAI paused some advanced model training. The KOSPI dropped 2.70%, Shenzhen 3.07% and the Nikkei 0.73%, while the Hang Seng rose 0.54%.
European markets opened mostly higher, with the STOXX 600 up 0.16%, the CAC 40 up 0.41% and the DAX up 0.14%, while the FTSE 100 opened flat.
