Market Review
The JCI closed Monday (22/6) down -0.98% (-60 points) at 6,117, pressured by rupiah weakness and cautious sentiment over the global macro backdrop. Trading activity remained active, with volume reaching 22,150 million and transaction value of Rp13,480 billion. The rupiah weakened 0.22% to 17,843 per USD, while investors also monitored the Fed’s hawkish stance and ongoing Middle East tensions.
Asian markets mostly ended higher as progress in US–Iran peace talks eased concerns over a prolonged disruption in the Strait of Hormuz. Japan’s Nikkei rose +1.55%, Shanghai +1.78%, Shenzhen +1.70%, CSI300 +2.39%, Kospi +0.69%, and Taiex +2.75%, while Hang Seng fell -0.65% and ASX200 slipped -0.14%.
European markets opened slightly higher, with STOXX 600 up +0.1%, DAX +0.18%, and FTSE 100 +0.1%, as investors assessed signs of progress in US–Iran negotiations and the potential resumption of shipping flows through Hormuz.
