Market Review
The JCI rose +1.11% (+68.05 points) to 6,195.43 on June 2, 2026, after reaching an intraday high of 6,264. Gains were supported by positive domestic data, including May inflation of 3.08% YoY, an April trade surplus of US$90 million, and a Manufacturing PMI rebound to 50.0. Energy and basic materials outperformed.
Asian markets closed mixed. South Korea’s Kospi edged +0.15%, China’s Shanghai Composite advanced +0.43%, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose +2.52%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped -0.30% and Australia’s ASX 200 was broadly flat at -0.06%. Markets weighed continued US-Iran ceasefire uncertainty after President Trump signalled he would not object to peace talks collapsing.
European markets opened higher on Tuesday, rebounding from Monday’s one-week low. The Stoxx 600 rose +0.30%, Germany’s DAX added +0.78%, France’s CAC 40 gained +0.55%, and the UK’s FTSE 100 was near flat at -0.01%, as investors repositioned ahead of key Eurozone inflation data despite ongoing US-Iran geopolitical uncertainty.
