Market Review
The Jakarta Composite Index closed Friday, June 19, 2026, marginally higher, up 0.08% (4.80 points) to 6,177.14 after a volatile session that swung between 6,117.31 and 6,215.06. Gains in non-cyclicals, infrastructure and healthcare offset heavy losses in basic materials, financials and property, with Telkom and Bank Mandiri the biggest drags. Total turnover reached IDR26.51 trillion.
Asian markets were mixed. The Nikkei firmed 0.28% and Shenzhen added 0.53%, while Hang Seng fell 1.59%, KOSPI eased 0.13%, Sensex dropped 0.85%, SET Thailand lost 0.63% and ASX 200 declined 0.93%, as investors weighed the delayed US-Iran nuclear talks and renewed Lebanon tensions against optimism over reopening Hormuz oil flows.
European markets opened narrowly mixed. The FTSE 100 slipped 0.04% while EuroStoxx 50 edged up 0.08%, with sentiment steadied by easing energy-supply fears as tankers carrying millions of barrels prepared to transit the Strait of Hormuz, even as Brent held near 79.85 per barrel and gold retreated on a firmer dollar.
