Market Review
The Jakarta Composite Index surged 4.12 percent, or 247.31 points, to close at 6,255, its strongest session in months as a US-Iran ceasefire and the prospect of reopened Hormuz oil shipments lifted risk appetite. Basic materials and financials led the rally, with foreign investors logging net buying.
Asian markets advanced broadly. The Nikkei jumped 4.99 percent toward a record close, while the KOSPI gained 5.20 percent and the Shenzhen Composite rose 3.42 percent. Hang Seng added 0.50 percent, supported by easing geopolitical tension and bets on dovish central bank policy across the region this week.
European markets opened firmer. The FTSE 100 edged up 0.09 percent while the EuroStoxx 50 advanced 0.95 percent, as the Middle East truce and a sharp drop in oil prices eased inflation concerns across the continent.
