MARKET REVIEW

Brent traded at USD 93.72/barrel, down 0.7%, and WTI fell 0.8% to USD 86.39/barrel as markets focused on Washington’s economic-isolation plan for Iran. Gold was about USD 4,380/oz at the 21 August close, up roughly 14% from end-July, supported by hard-asset demand amid elevated borrowing costs.
The JCI closed up 0.37% at 6,526, led by BBRI, BMRI and BBNI. The rupiah strengthened to IDR 17,693/USD, while foreign investors recorded net buys of IDR 992.64 bn. Trading value totaled IDR 17.47 tn.
