MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street fell as higher Treasury yields, rising oil prices and disappointing retail earnings revived concerns over inflation and consumer demand. The S&P 500 declined 0.87%, the Nasdaq lost 1.00% and the Dow Jones fell 1.32%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 slipped 0.35%, while the FTSE 100 edged up 0.04% amid mixed regional trading.
WTI October traded at USD 86.31/barrel, down 0.6%, while Brent settled 2.4% higher at USD 93.78/barrel as Washington moved to isolate Iran and its crude flows virtually stopped. Gold wavered and slipped 0.1% to USD 4,510.55/oz as yields rebounded and oil-driven inflation concerns persisted.
The JCI closed up 1.68% at 6,502, led by AMMN, BRMS and BBCA. The rupiah weakened to IDR 17,746/USD, while foreign investors recorded net buys of IDR 733.69 bn. Trading value totaled IDR 14.26 tn.
