MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street advanced after benign US inflation data reinforced expectations of easier monetary policy. The S&P 500 gained 0.26% and the Nasdaq rose 0.54%, while the Dow was broadly flat. European equities were softer, with the EuroStoxx declining 0.26%, as investors continued to assess the economic outlook and interest-rate path.
Oil was mixed as supply concerns and Middle East developments remained in focus. WTI declined 0.80% to USD 82.61/bbl, while Brent edged 0.08% higher to USD 88.98/bbl. Gold rose 0.89% to USD 4,408.79/oz after softer US inflation data strengthened the case for lower interest rates (Commodity News).
The JCI gained 1.69% to 6,374, supported by broad risk appetite. The rupiah stood at IDR 17,875/USD, while foreign investors recorded net buys of IDR 482.79 bn. BREN, DCII and BRPT were the largest positive index contributors.
