Market Review
The JCI closed lower on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, falling 0.55% (34 points) to 6,220. The decline came as investors remained cautious ahead of the first FOMC meeting under Kevin Warsh, although selling pressure eased toward the market close.
Asian markets were mixed with a positive bias. The KOSPI led gains with a 1.58% rise, followed by Shenzhen (+1.31%), CSI 300 (+0.97%), and Nikkei 225 (+0.72%), while the Hang Seng slipped 0.74%. Sentiment was supported by lower oil prices, easing inflation concerns, and declining regional bond yields ahead of the Fed decision.
European markets opened mixed. The EuroStoxx 50 gained 0.36% while the FTSE 100 edged down 0.14%, as investors balanced easing inflation pressures from lower energy prices against caution ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting.
