MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street advanced as easing US wholesale inflation supported expectations that the Federal Reserve can keep policy steady. The S&P 500 rose 0.65%, the Nasdaq gained 0.81% and the Dow Jones added 0.13%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 increased 0.18%, while the FTSE 100 fell 0.56%, reflecting a mixed regional session.
WTI traded near USD 81.08/barrel after declining 2.4% in the prior session, while Brent settled at USD 87.07/barrel, down 2.2%, as the Hormuz reopening remained unresolved. Gold fell to USD 4,350.02/oz, down 1.3%, as easing US inflation reinforced expectations that the Fed may hold rates steady next month.
The JCI closed down 1.13% at 6,302, pressured by AMMN, BRPT and BREN. The rupiah weakened to IDR 17,870/USD, while foreign investors recorded net sells of IDR 1.39 tn. The session’s trading value totaled IDR 13.63 tn.
