MARKET REVIEW
The JCI fell 0.75% to 6,147, dragged mainly by Bayan Resources (BYAN), which slumped 6.69% as an IDR 26.1tn block of its shares crossed in the negotiated market at IDR 2,588/share, about 80% below the regular-market price. Weakness in conglomerate stocks such as DSSA, BRPT, BREN and TPIA added pressure, while gains in BBRI and TLKM cushioned the decline.
Asian markets mostly closed lower as rising crude oil prices weighed on sentiment. The KOSPI led losses with a 1.98% drop, while the Nikkei fell 0.92%, the Hang Seng slipped 0.62% and the Sensex lost 0.64%. Thailand’s SET bucked the trend with a 0.31% gain.
European markets opened mostly lower. The STOXX 600 dipped 0.18%, while Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40 both fell 0.66%. The FTSE 100 opened flat.
