MARKET REVIEW
The JCI fell 0.43% to 6,122 as the rupiah briefly crossed IDR 18,000/USD amid pressure from global rates and oil prices. Technology led the retreat, with GOTO the largest individual drag, while energy stocks also weakened as investors assessed new restrictions on affiliated mining contractors. Gains in BBRI and several industrial names cushioned the index decline.
Asian markets mostly finished lower on Tuesday. The Nikkei lost 0.60%, the Hang Seng shed 0.48%, and the KOSPI eased 0.27%. Shenzhen was an exception, rising 0.41%, while Australia’s ASX 200 gained 0.34%; India’s Sensex and Thailand’s SET also finished lower.
European shares opened firmer despite the softer Asian session. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose 0.78% and the FTSE 100 gained 0.33% in early trading. The regional advance contrasted with Indonesian equities, where rupiah pressure and weakness in technology and energy weighed on the JCI.
