MARKET REVIEW
The JCI recovered from an early dip to close 1.56% higher at 6,375. The index was already up 0.64% at midday as investors positioned for a widely expected rate hold, then accelerated after BI kept the policy rate at 5.75%. Governor Destry Damayanti’s commitment to rupiah stability, foreign-inflow incentives, and accommodative macroprudential policy reinforced the relief rally. Basic materials, energy, cyclicals, industrials, and property led, while BBCA, DSSA, BYAN, AMMN, and MDKA provided the largest support.
Asian markets were mixed as KOSPI rose 0.90%, Sensex gained 0.40%, and ASX 200 edged up 0.09%, while Hang Seng fell 1.01% and Chinese shares declined. Tokyo was closed for a holiday.
European shares opened firmer after lower oil prices eased inflation concerns and eurozone business activity beat expectations. STOXX 600 gained 0.14%, DAX rose 0.57%, CAC 40 added 0.43%, and FTSE 100 was flat.
