MARKET REVIEW
JCI fell 1.13% to 6,461, reversing an early gain as investors stayed cautious after the Finance Ministry reshuffle. Selling was concentrated in financials and industrials, with BBRI, BBCA, BMRI and BYAN among the main index drags. Elevated Brent oil prices and uncertainty ahead of the Federal Reserve decision also weighed on domestic risk appetite.
Asian equities ended broadly lower. Hang Seng fell 1.00%, KOSPI 0.85%, Shenzhen 0.82%, Sensex 0.82%, SET 0.78% and ASX 200 0.88%, while Nikkei was nearly flat. Sentiment stayed defensive after weakness in US technology shares, rising bond yields and higher oil prices, with investors also monitoring Middle East risks.
European markets opened lower, with Euro Stoxx 50 down 0.41% and FTSE 100 down 0.46%. Investors remained cautious before the Federal Reserve decision, while higher oil prices revived inflation concerns and pressure on global yields. Risk appetite also remained fragile after the previous session’s technology-led selloff.
