MARKET REVIEW
The JCI slipped 0.17% to 5,926 as weakness in technology and heavyweight banks outweighed a rebound in property shares. DCII, VKTR and BBRI were the largest individual drags, while CTRA and PANI helped the index recover from its morning sell-off. Gains in energy and basic materials also cushioned the decline, leaving the benchmark marginally lower.
Asian markets were mixed amid concerns over oil-supply disruptions following the attack on Riyadh airport and ahead of US inflation data. South Korea’s KOSPI fell 5.46% and Japan’s Nikkei declined 1.82%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.30%. Australia’s ASX 200 was broadly flat.
European markets opened mixed. The STOXX 600 rose 0.07%, with France’s CAC 40 and Germany’s DAX gaining 0.26% and 0.15%, respectively. The FTSE 100 was broadly unchanged at the opening snapshot supplied for this report.
