MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street was closed on Monday for the US Labor Day holiday. In the prior session, the S&P 500 fell 0.38%, the Nasdaq lost 0.29%, and the Dow Jones declined 0.51%. European trading was mixed, with EuroStoxx 50 rising 0.17% while FTSE 100 slipped 0.08%, as energy-price risks remained in focus.
Brent crude settled 0.75% higher at USD 97/barrel as Iran said a Hormuz shipping agreement with Oman was nearing completion, while conflict risks continued to threaten energy flows. Gold fell 0.42% to USD 4,423/oz as higher oil prices reinforced expectations of tighter monetary policy and weighed on non-yielding bullion.
The JCI declined 0.25% to 6,620 on Monday after touching 6,668 intraday. The rupiah traded at IDR 17,640/USD. Foreign investors recorded net sells of IDR 590.18bn, while turnover reached IDR 13.72tn.
