MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street ended mixed as the 10-year Treasury yield climbed to its highest level since 2007. The S&P 500 slipped 0.02%, the Nasdaq edged up 0.01%, and the Dow Jones fell 0.31%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 lost 0.43% and the FTSE 100 declined 0.24%.
Brent crude eased 0.59% to USD 105.97/barrel as US-Iran talks on restoring Persian Gulf exports trimmed the risk premium, while Houthi strikes on Saudi facilities limited losses. Gold headed for a weekly loss on a firmer dollar and rising yields, but is now trading at USD 4,280/oz, up 0.35%.
The JCI closed down 1.20% to 6,299 yesterday as surging US Treasury yields overshadowed Bank Indonesia’s decision to hold the BI-Rate at 5.75%. The rupiah weakened to IDR 17,901/USD, while foreign investors posted net sells of IDR 1.49 trillion. Today, investors will weigh a flat Wall Street session, elevated US yields and softer oil prices.
