MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street retreated as renewed inflation concerns and higher energy prices weighed on risk appetite. The S&P 500 fell 0.58%, Nasdaq declined 0.65%, and Dow Jones lost 0.60%. In Europe, EuroStoxx 50 dropped 0.67% and FTSE 100 fell 0.57%, extending the cautious tone across developed markets.
Brent surged 6.34% to USD 108/barrel as escalating conflict in the Middle East heightened fears of supply disruption. Gold fell 1.09% to USD 4,326/oz as stronger producer-price data and firmer yields reduced expectations for easier US monetary policy despite lingering safe-haven demand.
JCI closed 1.33% lower at 6,589. The rupiah weakened to IDR 17,539/USD. Foreign investors posted IDR 747.51bn net sells, while turnover reached IDR 21.58tn. The index was pressured by broad-based selling, led by large-cap banks and energy names.
