KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Aug-26 net profit IDR 1.8Tn, up 11% MoM, but the business got weaker. Revenue fell 2.4% and costs rose 2.7%, so PPOP fell 7.4% to IDR 2.7Tn. The lift came from a lighter IDR 0.5Tn provision charge and lower tax.
- 8M26 net profit IDR 14.3Tn, RoE 13.2% against 12.7%, from lending more, not from earning more on each loan: NII rose 14.3% YoY on a loan book 23% bigger, while asset yield fell to 6.3% from 6.7% and NIM to 3.5% from 3.8%.
- CASA ratio down to 65.3% from 72.6%, with time deposits up 64% YoY. Cost of funding has turned, 3.7% in Aug-26 against 3.5% a year ago, and 8M26 interest expense rose 21% YoY against interest income up 17%.
- Our read: growth is real but costlier to fund. Loans are up 27% YoY and 10.7% since December against 8-10% guidance, while reserve cover fell to 3.7% from 4.6%. At 0.85x P/BV, below its five-year -1SD of 0.96x, much is discounted. Key watch: whether CASA recovers in September.
