MARKET REVIEW
US stocks rebounded strongly on Thursday, snapping a Fed-driven sell-off, as Microsoft’s record single-day value gain led a broad technology rally. The S&P 500 rose 1.66%, the Nasdaq surged 2.78%, and the Dow Jones advanced 1.19%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 gained 1.53% while the FTSE 100 slipped 0.10%.
Oil eased on the session as Brent settled at USD 89.03/barrel, down 1.9%, even as the US-Iran conflict and Houthi activity in the region kept the month’s cumulative gain near 21%. WTI held near USD 84/barrel. Gold advanced 1.1% to USD 4,112/oz as Treasury yields pulled back following the Fed’s rate hold decision.
The JCI rebounded 1.56% to 6,186 on Thursday, snapping a six-day losing streak as all 11 sectors closed higher, led by consumer staples and energy. The rupiah was at IDR 18,085/USD. Foreign investors recorded net buys of IDR 100.16 bn on the session.
