Market Review
Wall Street was mixed on Monday as technology stocks slid while investors weighed US-Iran peace progress ahead of key inflation data. The S&P 500 fell 0.37% and the Nasdaq dropped 1.32%, dragged by Alphabet and Amazon, while the Dow Jones rose 0.29%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 edged up 0.29% and the FTSE 100 added 0.72%.
WTI crude rose to USD 74.24 per barrel, up 0.5%, after falling almost 3% the prior session on early peace talks and a US waiver allowing some Iranian oil sales. Brent settled near USD 77.90. Gold steadied around USD 4,191 per ounce, having gained nearly 1%, as the dollar softened.
The JCI closed down 0.98% to 6,116.69 on Monday as investors turned defensive ahead of the MSCI review. The rupiah weakened to around IDR 17,813 per dollar. Foreign investors recorded net sells of IDR 1.11 trillion.
