Wall Street rose as softer bond yields and AI deal activity lifted technology stocks, sending the S&P 500 and Nasdaq to record highs. The S&P 500 rose 0.58%, the Nasdaq gained 0.45%, and the Dow Jones added 0.49%. In Europe, the EuroStoxx 50 climbed 0.48% and the FTSE 100 0.42%.
Brent crude rose 0.76% to USD 101.34/barrel as Iranian attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz revived supply risks, partly offset by restored Saudi pipeline capacity. Gold gained 0.75% to USD 4,159/oz as fading bets on an October Fed hike outweighed a firm dollar.
The JCI closed up 1.21% to 6,193 yesterday, led by energy and technology stocks as BYAN and AMMN rallied. The rupiah stood at IDR 17,900/USD, while foreign investors posted net sells of IDR 630 billion. Today, investors will weigh Wall Street’s record highs, firmer oil and gold prices, and the FOMC minutes.
