MARKET REVIEW
Wall Street rallied Monday as falling oil prices and AI optimism lifted risk appetite. The S&P 500 rose 1.49%, the Nasdaq surged 2.26%, and the Dow gained 0.71%, led by semiconductor shares. European equities also advanced as lower energy costs eased inflation concerns, with the FTSE 100 up 0.75% and Euro Stoxx 50 gaining 1.31%.
Brent fell 3.40% to USD 100.34/barrel as stronger Saudi loadings through Hormuz and diplomatic efforts eased Middle East supply concerns. WTI held above USD 95/barrel after dropping more than 9.00% over four sessions. Gold edged 0.14% higher to USD 4,356.40/oz, despite pressure from further Federal Reserve rate-hike expectations.
The JCI fell 0.88% to 6,385 as BYAN and major banks dragged the index, while foreign investors booked net sales of IDR 503.12bn. The rupiah weakened to IDR 17,838/USD as investors awaited Bank Indonesia’s policy decision.
