The S&P 500 fell 0.48%, the Nasdaq declined 0.56%, and the Dow Jones lost 0.29%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index slid 5.9%. The 10-year Treasury yield briefly topped 5% before easing near 4.99%, keeping valuation pressure elevated across risk assets.
Gold declined as elevated oil prices reinforced inflation concerns ahead of the Federal Reserve decision. Spot gold traded at USD 4,268.60 per ounce, while the daily data showed gold at USD 4,302.20 per ounce, down 0.37%. Brent settled at USD 105.68 per barrel, up 1.02%, as Middle East supply disruptions kept energy markets volatile.
